The boys are "dancing" on my bed right now. They request different songs, and their choices are so funny. Jared, as always, chooses The Never Ending Story theme song. Gavin chooses Tom Sawyer by Rush and Too Many Puppies by Primus. Seriously, I love these kids.
I'm worried how everything will change with the addition of another baby. And a girl at that. I'm so used to these boys, they're perfect; we're perfect together.
Gavin is assertive and curious. The age he's at is so interesting, his personality gets deeper everyday. I love discovering new things about the person he's becoming. Gavin is very athletic, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up being really into sports. He is nurturing and sweet, the worst punishment I can give him is my disappointed. He can't stand to know that he's hurt someone. He's such a good older brother, and I know he'll do great with Amelie.
Jared is the perfect companion to Gavin. He is almost always agreeable, going along with all Gavin's ideas and plans. If Gavin wants to jump, Jared is right behind him. At the same time, Jared doesn't let Gav get away with anything. They fight as much as they get along, but they always make up. These two are truly best friends.
Jared has mellowed a lot in the last few months. This kid could draw all day long. Drawing, singing, playing with PlayDoh, and dancing. He's so creative and funny. Jared is constantly asking everyone "Are you happy?" and won't be satisfied until you answer "yes!". Lately, he's been saying "Make me a baby!" which means I have to wrap him in a a blanket and hold him like I did when he was a baby. He then pretends to drink a bottle. Maybe he can sense that things are going to change...
I'm soaking up these last days with my two boys, I don't think I could love them any more or I would explode. It won't be just them for much longer...

Spring is (finally) here!
We had our first cookout of the year this past week!
Hotdogs - the boys' favorite!
We're all really digging our awesome porch. The boys are constantly begging to go out there, but the weather isn't that nice everyday yet.
David and his friend Adam (or I should say, Gavin's "best friend" Adam) grilled us some chicken "hobos" which Adam found hilarious for some reason.
I made the salad, and it was the best part of dinner!
Or maybe the freezie-pops were
The weather was seriously so gorgeous, the next day it was 80 degrees!
We played at the park and wore shorts - in April!
If you can't tell, Gavin loves his new sunglasses
And Jared loves playing in the sand! (He did eat a little...)
Who doesn't love a good ride on the slide?
Jared cannot ride down like he's supposed to - it's not dangerous enough for him!
Gavin yelled "whoopsie daisy" over and over on the see-saw... I'm not sure why, but it was hilarious!
Jared's favorite part - being flung in the air as high as the swing will go!
After a very long winter, this weekend was exactly what we needed!

Update 2011!
I've been bad about updating. I'm tired and sick most of the time, plus it was Christmas vacation... so.... whatev!
On the baby front everything is still good, finding out the sex on Feb. 1st so that's exciting!
Gavin got to help David clean our couch, and he loved it!
He's such a good helper lately. I was thinking at lunch that in only a year and a half he'll be starting kindergarten - time flies!
There's been tons and tons of snow and David has been taking them outside every chance he gets, but it's wicked cold! One day it was in the 50's (weird...) so I took them for a walk. They had a blast but I was just trying to keep up with them.
Also, everyone complements me on their boots. They're awesome, and they're from Amazon.
Today, Gavin put on his play glasses and hard hat, grabbed a hammer and his cell phone, and went to "work". When he came back I asked "how was work?" and he replied "Pretty much better."
Lastly, a portrait of David and I on the aquadoodle. I'm on the right, and David's on the left. I have "a lot of hair." I would like to point out that I have ears and David does not. Also, I'm smiling.
